BMI (kg/m2) Disease risk for Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases
< 18.5 Underweight with risks of nutritional deficiency disease & osteoporosis
18.5 to 22.9 Healthy weight with low risks
23.0 to 27.4 Overweight with moderate risk
27.5 and above Obese with high risk
