Waist Circumference
Measuring your waist circumference gives you an idea of the fat distribution in your body and also a better understanding of your health risks. Visceral fat, which normally accumulates in the abdominal area and around organs, is considered more dangerous than normal body fat. A big waist increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension and cardiovascular disease especially in those who already have a high BMI score.
