How can you be more active?
There are many ways to begin an activity programme. Firstly, choose an activity that interests you and is also within your body's capabilities. You can either start on your own, with your friends and family or engage a trainer. Either way, remember to start slow and easy. Set a target that is achievable but also challenging.
Very often, people make the mistake of setting goals that are unrealistic. When they fail to reach these targets, discouragement sets in. When embarking on an activity programme, always remember that even the most modest increases in physical exercise are beneficial – and will improve your health. The following two examples – a walking programme and a jogging programme – are easy to pick up and will help you get regular exercise easily and conveniently.
