Keeping a balanced diet
Food provides our bodies with the energy to function while helping to keep them in good working order.
To stay healthy, the body needs a balance of nutrients. This means eating a variety of foods from the different food groups. But balance doesn’t mean you have to avoid certain foods altogether. So if cheesecake is your weakness, go ahead and eat it but do so in small portions and only every now and then as a treat.
Recording what you eat and the time, places and activities associated with eating will make you more conscious of your food choices. Keeping a food diary will help you and your doctor to identify areas to work on.
